Madi

So it has been a long time... But we have been sick.... Madi ended up in the hospital on Sunday with Croup and had to stay overnight to be monitored because the breathing treatments they gave didn't work right off..... So then we took her to the food and nutrition clinic we have been waiting for for 4 months.... Madi has finally got her weight on the chart and is in the 2% so that was exciting.... But my main reason for writing is this....

Can you believe it Madi can walk, well not on her own but it's an improvement... We were so excited and now she loves this little stroller.... She is so cute and she now feels like she is a little more independent....

Not.... 12:00 Lindie woke up and was having a hard time breathing I turned on the humidifier and gave her tylenol and sent her back to bed.... 15 minutes later I could hear her breathing from her bedroom to mine so I got up to check on her and layed in her bed for a while... She was sound asleep so I went and layed in my bed at 3:30 she was in her room crying and she was definatly getting wose. So I picked her up and rushed her to the emergency room.... She now has croup.. and we are just suppose to watch her and it will get better on her own..... I worried about her oxygen level ect but it was all fine.

I have heard before that if you have a bad feeling about going somewhere you should always listen to what you feel because there is always a reason..... Well I had had a bad feeling all week about going far away for Thanksgiving and I guess this is why....

Madi has also started to sound crappy so I hope hers passes easier than Lindie but you never know....

Oh and just to add cherry to the pie...... Our furnace is out... So I have two kids with croup and no furnace.... What a day....

I have not posted forever... karl has been very busy with work and has been working 60 hours a week.. Last week I went to my mom's to let hime get some sleep... But I have been scrapbooking... Madi is suppose to go to the doctors this week to get her weight checked so we will see how that goes!!!

Well I wish I could tell you guys who have been concerned about madilynn good news but at our appointment on Tuesday Madi has somehow lost two ounces and the doctor is beginning to get more concerned. Her blood work that was completed about 3 weeks ago came back normal except for he thyroid is a little hypo active (slow) which means she should be gaining a ton of weight not losing so the doctor says it's very confusing.... We will eventually have to treat her for her under active thyroid but for now getting her to gain weight is top on the list. We are making an appointment for the food and nutrition specialist at primary children's and she should be going there within the next two months..... The only thing that keeps my hopes up is that she has or the most part stopped spitting up so now it is just figuring out why she isn't getting what she needs although she eats a ton? This has been one of the hardest things for me to deal with as a mother because I feel helpless. No matter what I do as a mom it isn't working. AHHHHH!!!! I just have to tell myself it will be okay!!!!

Last Night I was going through some old photos and found some I took of the girls feet and hands together I thought that I would post them because I think we all forget about the little treasures that are tucked away and stored somewhere in our house. Can you believe it. She has grown up so fast. She is such a happy kid. She went to the doctors on Tuesday this week and in Madilynn's normal style she gained only 2 ounces in 3 1/2 months. So the doctor has finally decided that it is time to do blood tests to determine why she is not gaining weight. A lot of it has to do with her constant spitting up that she has had her whole life. The other part of it is that she sleeps most of the day she is awake about6 hours a day. They have changed her to all solid foods and we hope that this will help her gain weight over the next few weeks...

And I scrapbooked with a few of my friends that came over on Tuesday. We did it after the kids went to bed. It was nice to scrapbook without whinning from kids!!! Here is what I made.

Okay so I swore I would never get another dog after the experience we had with Brock... (He bit the police chiefs daughter...) But we had to go look for some reason. Why a Saint Bernard? I dunno. Why did I even search for a Saint Bernard? I have no clue but I saw her picture I thought well we can go look. When we got to the house to look at her It was like love at first site for all of us. She came around the corner and she just made you go WOW... She is amazing.... She can sit, stay, Lay, Speak, Heel, shake, come and the neatest thing is she can go potty on command. It is so funny to watch Lindie with her she can walk her to the park even though Lindie is 30 pounds and Tinkerbell is 150 pounds and Lindie has no problem walking her at all by herself . She is so fun and probably the best dog I have ever seen in my life...

We went camping for the fourth with Joe, Julie, Mike and Krissy!!! It was so much fun!!! We rode around in spanish fork canyon on our four wheelers and we walked forever to the hot pots. Karl was hoping to see naked people there but there were none.

Today Lindie was so Funny she kept telling me she was getting married.... Then she introduced me to her imaginary husband"Max".... We had a huge wedding at the house... There was Dancing, Singing, and of course a Tea Party with real water all over my carpet. LOL Then she said we had to go to the park to see her friends at her party. Okay so in life I have decided that things are not always as clear as you would like and in stamping this is also true!!! I guess you have to learn sometimes... did the cracked glass technique and it cracked to much so I took a piece of tissue paper and placed it on top to hold it all together it was too opaque so I wet it down and that made it okay I guess sometimes you get what you get... LOL TFL

We survived the windstorm of 2008 and our house is still standing although I have had little sleep because my DD thought that the wind was a monster and wanted to stay up and watch simpsons. So I guess you do what you have to do... I am just glad we made it our neighbors siding blew off and we didn't loose any so I was excited about that.

Scrape and emerge

This is a new technique that I made up.... It was so simple but has produced I think great results. This image was colored with copic markers I took the image and heat embossed it until it had a great covering lot like cracked glass. when it was cooled completely I ran it under cold water and then took a toothbrush and brushed most of the paper off the back of the image until it was almost see through but the whole image was still visible... The embossing powder held it all together. When it was still damp I dabbed the image on the back with close to cocoa powder witch allowed the ink to soak up through the image giving it an aged look. It is amazing to look at in real life. TFL

I colored this image from SU called sweet treats with my copics. I added spica pen to the glass on the lines to give it a little more shine. the cherry I thought needed a bit more bling so I added crystal effects and glitter on it to give it a little more dimension.

Man ever since I was little I remember loving dragonflies and now it is no different I am pulled to anything that has them on them and I have to have all the stamps that have dragonflies on them... I want to buy this stamp set from stampin up but since Sarah has it I have not bought it for myself yet. I used my new copic glitter pens that I received this week I was concerned that they wouldn't work cause I ordered the clear ones but I love the way they work they color on any color and just add a perfect amount of shine. Holy Crap it is 1:30 and I have already gone to the dentist and made a card!!! If only I was this productive everyday. I love this set well I guess both of them bundled in love and bundle of joy. They color so nicely and I think they make a wonderful baby card. My friend called me to tell me that she is having a boy. She really wanted a girl but she says now she just wants healthy. I am so happy for her. Congratulations!!!

For this card I used bundle of joy and bundled in Love, copics (of course), unknown ribbon, rhinestones and dp from my scrap pile so I am not sure who made it...

Chipboard Tag

This is the card that I made today! My mom bought a package of Chipboard and said that we had to use a piece from it to make a card. I had seen somewhere a challenge to make a Christmas card with nontraditional colors and I thought that this would be perfect. I know that the stamp set is a SU set but I am not sure which one. I will check tomorrow. I used the paper out of the same packas the chipboard it had no brand and I stamped the snowflakes and the sentiment with black stazon. TFL

I have been watching from the sidelines on splitcoast the thread that is for PIF Image Swap and finally decided I had better join in. I received this cute frog on there and I just love him. I think the only problem with image swaps is I still want all the stamps if the images I receive lol. I used my SU punch across the sides and colored him with copics of course. I think he turned out way cute!!! TFL

Me? Give away a card?

I am not one to generally give away cards. I make a ton of cards and just hoard them. I have been better about it since I have been doing my blog because I have a way to remember all the cards that I make and I know that if I want to I can remake them. I have been trying and actually gave a card to DH friend that was in the accident and not just any card it was a fav. That was huge for me. I also am giving the birthday card that I made yesterday to my Demo.

I think a lot of the reason I do not give them away is because they are a part of me in one way or another. I am one of those crazy people who post something on SCS and sit around pressing F5 on my computer til I get a comment. (okay not to that extreme, but hey I have no life. LOL). But I just sit there and think Wonder if someone doesn't like what I made or on the other hand how many people like what I made. Sometimes I even decide how much I like a card based on how many comments I receive... But then I look back and think about how much I enjoy making them and how much fun I had when I made a card with mom or Sarah or one of my neighbors, and I know this is what I love to do and I need to share it with people.

Here is my card today... I did the cracked glass technique because I wanted to try a new way to get more layers of embossing powder on. It cracked way better this time. The stamp that I used was from stampers anonymous. (I love their stamps) I used all stampin up paper and then I sewed with my machine on the card itself. I used brads on the underneath strip... TFL

I don't know how to make my mom believe me that I need her to give me all her stamp sets cause I fall in love with every one I touch. This is a stamp set by Stampin Up and it is called Star Santa. I colored it with my copic markers. I also used basic grey paper, SU old Olive and real red.
*Remade it without the bag. It just didn't look right. Mom said it looked like a weird embellishment and had to ask if it was a bag. It looks good in real life!

Holy crap it's stinkin cold in my house... The furnace went out last night and the repair people. Well you know how repair people are. Oh well I guess patience is a virtue and everyone always says I need to learn some.

So anyway Sarah came over last night to hang out. We played with the copics and made some cards. We had a cracked glass image from the other day that I had done and we decided to put it together. I love the way that is turned out, with the stick on the top and the colors are great. We did awesome!!!

So potty training at our house has been a joke. My DD is 3 and then some and still doesn't quite get it. We got back from getting doughnuts this morning and she was still dry!!! I made this card today just because I wanted to play with my copic markers again I love the flock for the frosting and the markers color so vibrant. I had a hard time with the layout so I hope you like it.

I finally got to play with my copic markers. YEAH!!!! This is the picture I decided to color. I thought it was very festive. I found it as a clip art and loved it. I used copics to color of course. I think it looks good. I hope I can continue to get better at these things cause I am just not quite there....

I got my copics... I know I have a ton of work to do but I thought I would post my very first copic color... I printed it off the copic website because there was a tutorial I will probly do it 100 more times before it looks decent but hey I'll keep trying... P.S I messed up on the bow so I didn't finish it...

Wendover week

Holy crap where did my week go. Oh yeah it got lost in Wendover just like all my money... LOL I swear that after you go to Wendover it takes at least a week before you are up to par again. I really did make cards last week and so I am going to post my favorite. It is colored with water color crayons and and then inked in basic brown. I added brads to the sentiment. Hope you like it. Today my friend came over to play scrapbook with me... YEAH We made cute cards.. I think we both made two.... Which for me is a huge accomplishment in two hours... (I know that's pretty sad) i used a hydrangea stamp my mom left for me to use... and the rhyme time set for the other both are colored with water color pencils... TFL

My DFI went into the hospital yesterday to have planned open heart surgery for to repair a hole in his heart. We found out that my two daughters would not be able to go see him and he began to cry. I was going to make him a card but because he couldn't see his girls I thought I would give him pictures instead. I had been saving this case for the perfect thing and nothing seemed to ever come together but when I saw it I thought it would be perfect to protect the pictures in the hospital. Monstrosity

Ahhh up all night, and then up early in the morning, I guess that is the life of a mom... I had to cancel my stampin' day with my friend and violin. I thought I would show you my new monstrosity stamp I got on Saturday though. It makes me happy! I bought it thinking that I would like the other four stamps I bought better, but I have not put this one down. I think he is so cute. Again these are the watercolor crayons from stampin' up.

Why can I never get a full nights sleep.... Because I have children!!!.... My dd is up puking and is not feeling good and since my dh has to work tomorrow I am the one who is up. That's okay because at least I am not puking, lol. Look on the bright side right? I did get to make a card today that was a pocket card It wasn't exactly what I had in mind but I think it still turned out cute. I love this paper and have been hoarding it for like a year now because I want to make a scrapbook page with it but it called to me tonight I had to use it good thing I still have enough to make at least one scrapbook page still.... Watercolor crayons

I have been debating whether to buy copic markers or not.... Ahhh they are so expensive but I would love to play with them. My mom came over this week and so I decided to borrow her water color crayons I never thought I would be able to make them look good at all but I think this card looks great. I really like the watercolor crayons. Maybe these will make it so I don't NEED the copics right now.

We recieved an invitation to go to a Halloween party and because we have children we are not going to be able to make it. I wantd to let them know in a cute way so we took the invitaion that they had sent us and used the front cover as the main image. I love this dracula. It was way easy and it made it a little more personal then just saying that we can;t make it!!

I have been having such scrapbook block lately.... But I have been making a ton of cards. This stamp set (The Snowflake Spot) is my favorite right now. I used pp from My Minds Eye called Bohemia Christmas. I versa marked the snowflake and embossed it with embossing pearl powder. I wish that it wasn't pearl because normal silver powder is way darker but that's what I had. I will have to get silver soon. I hope you like it.
